SEOUL – The Dream Together Masters programme officially welcomed the seventh class to what has become a premiere post-bachelors study for sports administrators and career-changing athletes looking to get into sports operations and governance.
The Dream Together Master program is an initiative aimed at promoting global sports development through providing world-class education for future leaders in the field of sports management.
This year’s program will bring together nineteen sports administrators and athletes from eighteen countries interested in the development of sports – especially in the third world states.
In his welcome remark, the programme’s director, Professor Joon-jo Kang Ph.D, encouraged the new set of participants to embrace the culture of study and collaboration set by their predecessors. “We hope you will acquire the knowledge and skill to become global sports leaders through our world-leading faculty and gain powerful alumni network that extends around the globe,” Dr. Kang said.
The Dream Together comes in partnership with Seoul National University, International University Sports Federation, International Olympic Committee, the International Taekwondo Federation, Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Sport Promotion Foundation.
For the next seventeen months, the 19 grad school attendees will be put through intense courses under the tutelage of renowned experts distinguished both in profound knowledge and experience in the field of sports management.
The student will also get the opportunity to broaden their knowledge and cultural experiences through diverse programs out of the classroom.
South Korea has become a destination for sports and sporting activities since she hosted the Olympics in 1988, a singula event that has changed the face and fate of sportsmen both origins and foreigners.
South Korea has since won the right to host various sporting events, from the 2003 and 2015 Summer Universiades in Daegu and Gwangju, to the 2002 FIFA World Cup and the Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018.
